My latest single “On Fire” is a catchy and danceable industrial rocker featuring a nasty guitar solo. And that seems to be the general direction in which my solo output is headed. That’s definitely not a bad thing. But don’t take my word for it. Listen to the track below as well as on Minds and YouTube. If you want to read the lyrics, they’re on my website.
I was quickly dissatisfied with the solo album I completed last month. Looking back after thirty days, I could identify the issues. I hadn’t been making music regularly for a long time and had accumulated oodles of ideas. And I threw them all out into the world at once. The album is a convoluted mess that plays like listening to three stylistically different albums at once. And I will be pursuing these ideas as three separate projects. For music released under my name, I’ll be pursuing a heavier and more abrasive sound that plays to my deep raspy vocals and dissonant lead guitar playing. “On Fire” serves as the template for this lean and mean direction. And the album format is largely an obsolete concept now. Mine being a concept album didn’t help inspire anyone to immerse themselves in forty minutes of my music. I’ll be strictly a singles artist from here on out.
It’s true. I had to try it out and do my dance moves. 🔥🔥🔥
I actually got up danced and went down to the floor. Great dance beat.
